I want to reiterate that I don’t think it’s impossible for women with BPD to be good mothers! However, women with BPD are more susceptible to emotional instability, volatile relationships, increased risk of conflict, anxiety and depression. There are actual studies that show that in CPS removals out of 1875 cases 34.3% were removed from mothers with BPD or highly elevated BPD symptoms.
